Recipes

Here are a few of our most dearly loved, frequently cooked recipes.
Maybe someday they will be arranged seasonally, "but it is not this day!" (Name that movie...)

I'll be updating this page frequently, so keep an eye out!

Bon Appetit!

Shauna Niequist's Blueberry Crisp
Basically, this crisp is my "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" of desserts. It unites me and so many people. Make it. Please.

Grilled Vegetable Panini

The Perfect Iced Coffee

Peach Tree Country French Bread

Pesto Tilapia

Green Beans with Almond Butter and Red Rice
( I used brown rice. Because red rice is just super elusive.)

Really Simple Pizza Crust

Peanut butter Irish Oatmeal
(I'll be typing up the recipes for this and the cantaloupe in a later post because they're unfortunately not online. Sad day.)

Cantaloupe, yogurt and honey bowls

Oven-Baked French Toast with Cranberry-Maple Sauce
We make this every Christmas morning and you probably should too. I usually return to the pan and just start eating it with a fork when the gift-opening is over.
(You can also make it with a berry mixture for a summertime alternative!)

Crepe Recipe (for the sake of time, I'm just typing it up here. I'll fix it later if you don't mind!)
11/2 c. milk
3 eggs
2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
11/2 c. sifted flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
5 Tbsp. melted butter
Mix milk, eggs, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Stir in flour, sugar and melted butter. Whisk vigorously (I honestly just love the expression. You don't have to do it that vigorously.)  Spray pan with Pam before each crepe. Pour batter to the size of your liking, let set until it takes on a rubbery sort of texture. Flip. After it firms up a bit have crepe-flipping contests with your friends. Serve up with fruit and nutella or nut butters. Or really anything your heart desires. Yummm.

Mom's Brownies

Spiced Oatmeal Cookies

Hummingbird Cake

Do you give up on my movie quote? It's Return of the King. From Aragorn's speech when they're about to ride into Mordor to distract Sauron... You know, while the hobbits... reminisce about the taste of... strawberries...

Please don't leave me.
